A lifetime in Spain at the time of inquisition and the part the Pope played in this. The realization She comes to that forgiveness is the big key to entering the Kingdom of God.
Red blossoms on the Ground
More time for Her it did pass by
Seemingly less than blink of an eye
And in 13th century Spain She found herself
Red blossoms covering the wintry ground
Blossoms they were not but blood of many
Whom at the hands of Rome's inquisitionary
Had lost their lives
And She was one of them who too had gloried
In those punishments doled out
Eye for an Eye
Heretics they were called by ruthless Popish men
The Pope his due and more did crave
He sent his minions far and wide to search out those
Who did not follow church's rules
And sent them all to Hell or maybe Heaven
Saw this She did through glazed eyes
Not wanting to know the karma so incurred
But knew did She repayment must be made
One way or another even under Grace it seemed
The Law of Moses would prevail
Eye for an Eye and thus redeem Herself she could
Forgiveness the Key
The pain of such rememberance strong inside it was
As if a blade cut deep the parts of Her that were asleep
And needed waking up
To realize and clear away and most of all forgive
A flood of memories then there came
Of other instances other pains of whom She once had been
And done
Images flashing through Her one by one
But now knew She all these experiences
Had made Her who She had become
No regrets were due
Only forgiveness over and over till complete

In daily lives too, forgiveness is the key to happiness and contentment. Why give others the right to make us unhappy? Thanks Carolina for a nice ride - siva
