Abortion is a Non-Issue

Abortion is a non-issue, because one can never destroy life. That is impossible.
Abortion is a non-issue
Consider the premise that reincarnation is the way things are. Reincarnation is the only cosmology that makes sense. Is it really the case that we have but one life to live, and that if we don't do it right we will roast for eternity in hell? That is so retarded a belief that it boggles the mind to think that so many could be wallowing in such ignorance. Consider, if you will, that different people are born under vastly different economic and social conditions. John grows up in a loving, nurturing, caring and affluent family, whereas Jane is born to a crack cocaine addicted Native American mother who is a prostitute. Thus Jane will never get a break in her entire life. Where is the justice here? There is none at all, unless you factor in the equation that allows for reincarnation. Jane is reaping karma for past actions in past lives, and John is reaping fortunate karma because of his selfless service to others in past lives. No soul is going to decide to choose a mother (and we do, in fact, choose our parents) when the would-be mother is going to decide to abort.
Note: I have deliberately used a holier-than-thou, arrogant and condescending writing style in this article, because that is the style which all of the right-wing crazies use when they are pontificating and proffering their own narrow and rigid world view upon the rest of us.

Steve, I just wanted you to know that I did read this. For the sake of honoring your right to your opinion, and because abortion is very much an issue for me, I will refrain from commenting further.

Oh Steve, this is bloody marvellous...I love the way you delineate facts of life...of re-embodiment...
keep up this work..the world needs to know...
destroying life is terrible but who knows what the karma from other lifetimes is promoting this...for It Is All Perfect...or it would not happen...

On the whole I think its a woman's issue and most men should stay out of telling a woman what she cannot do with her body.

Surely, it would be best to leave it the way it is now. I always hope that late-term abortions are scrutinized.

I believe we have every right to critical thinking. That extends to religious beliefs. I can never accept any just because my ancestors said so without clear proof. I am born a Hindu and am interested in reincarnation as Hinduism is pro reincarnation. I have also seen hynotic regression sessions where people recall their past lives. Yes, it is tough to explain away why some are given a heft when born. But I have an open mind on all beliefs and religons as long as none is considereed sacrosanct, beyond repproach. The younger people, anyway, is having none of it. But I cannot accept abortion unless there are clear defects and advised by medical opinion. Another bold take, Steve - siva

Thank you Siva. I myself have been present at past life regressions, and that's proof enough for me.

I see this as relativism (coming from the term cultural relativism- one doesn't discriminate one action from another basing on race or orientation) Steve. Indeed, one should never discriminate a person's action as each one of us are born with different orientation. Talking about Jane and John's background, knowing who these individuals are makes one understand them and their actions as well.

Abortion isn't really an issue but discrimination is.
