Ancient Anchor

Israel, who is God's wife, is the nation that anchors the world, but is largely unaware of where her salvation comes from. This page is intended to guide her in the right direction.

Holy Dying

There is a holy dying nation that serves as my ancient anchor in the modern world. The dying of Israel leads to her new life. Martin Gilbert is one of the few scholars who has graced the earth with play-by-play action concerning her existence. His book Israel is of prime importance, a veritable continuation of the story Jah drop-kicked onto the human scene.

When the Land of Israel used to be called Palestine, there were Jews who lived on charity - as it is written (Matthew 10), '...the workman is worthy of his meat.' The Jews of the Palestine were Jah's workmen. These charity-receivers had emissaries working on their behalf in Yafet's tents (Europe). Much like my friend Raj of India, who has gone to the nations raising funds for the persecuted Christians ruled over inside Hindu Headquarters.

Being Made Ready for Resurrection

The Zion-loving George Eliot gave fuel to the fire of Jewish momentum toward statehood; Eliot has always been a rather mysterious and curious lady I have longed to look into. She was responsible for putting faith into the hearts of so many Jews who felt like the world was caving in on them in countries where Christianity was an empty word. Their eyes looked to Zion.

I am sure angels long to look into the salvation that compelled a Jewish family to bring their Gibraltar-born son, by the name of Hayyim Amzalak, to Palestine in 1830. They settled in Yerushalayim. Amzalak wore at least 3 different hats while in the Holy Land: grain merchant, banker, and British vice-consul for Jaffa. Amzalak bought the land on which the 1st all-Jewish village had been built. In World War 1, he refused to renounce his British nationality and was exiled to Egypt (as per the Encyclopaedia Judaica).

Speaking of salvation, we will do well to investigate it, because John 4 says, 'It is from the Jews that salvation comes.' Israeli history is the greatest salvation story. Salvation is at the heart of Israeli life.

Salvation = deliverance from the power of sin. To deliver is to set free. God (Jah) is the Deliverer. The Bible's theology 'must be studied as a whole to be seen in true perspective.' True. If you believe, as most Catholics do, that the Tanakh is myth, then Jah indeed is a legendary figure of divine descent endowed with great strength; that then would be especially true of Messiah, of whom the Tanakh prophecies. But, Jah is much more than that.

I am the Resurrection!

Jah is a Warrior, as it is written in the Bible. He is a man, in Yeshua, admired for his achievements and noble qualities. He is the Highest Hero. The Bible's narration is related to him. The Tanakh may not offer any proof of his existence, but the Tanakh's answer section - the Brit Hadashah - does.

It is said there were no athiests in antiquity. What does that say about our generation? At least on every corner of an American intersection can be found a man who denies Jah's existence.

Israel's idea of Jah was new in the ancient community; what the globe thought it knew, Israel raised to a higher level. Questions about Jah are found in the midst of the Tanakh, but a series of answers are scattered over the entirety of the Holy
Book, just as the Jews have been scattered over the globe, awaiting someone to come to them with pertinent questions.

But, sadly, every once in while, Gentiles would come across someone like Israel Abrahams, a Jew who said that Jah is not to be conceived as spirit. Messiah - who is Jah - says, 'God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.'

Therein lies the problem with most Jews: they worship Jah in truth - because they own Jah's book - but they do not worship in spirit, because their own spirit within them is dead. That is why Messiah said (John 3), '...no one can see the kingdom of God unless he has been born again.' Believe it or not, the British have taught me that the kingdom of God is the activity of God's King; Messiah is God's King.

Though it makes me happy to know that Israel Abrahams was a scholar from my native nation (South Africa), it hurts me to know that he could not see Jah's Holy Ghost when he wrote of Jah. Was it his birthplace - Vilna - which breastfed to him the idea that Jah is not spirit? Was it the Jews' College or London University which crammed down his throat that idea?

Abraham's life is a case in point of what Israel is missing. In 1937, Abrahams became a respected, upper-crust shepherd of the Cape Town Hebrew Congregation. He received the chair of Hebrew at Cape Town University in 1938. In 1951, became the big boss of the United Council of Hebrew Congregations of the Cape. He retired in 1967 and settled in Israel. But, in all that learning and elevation, he obviously did not learn that Jah has chosen what the world counts as folly to shame the wise - Jah made Messiah our wisdom. 1st Corinthians 1 says, 'If anyone must boast, let him boast of the Lord.'

Messiah is the Lord. Hope in Messiah is our anchor of the soul (Hebrews 6) and that hope enters into that within the veil. It is my understanding that the veil the writer to the Hebrews refers to is the veil of Jah's Temple in the heavenlies, which served as a model for the veil made on earth for the 1st Temple of the Jews. Messiah is waiting for you, my dear Jew, just as he waited for Nicodemus by night.

Yeshua Messiah claimed to be the Resurrection. You have nothing to lose. Just call on his name.
