This is a poem that reveals the beauty of sharing nature with our kids. I remember the first time I heard the ocean. The smell of the salt air with the amazing natural wonders around me took my breath away. Then I saw my wife with our kids. She is a goddess!

Lofty Dreams

To a child resting on daddy"s knees,

sometimes mankind looks like lofty trees.

Oh, I remember the best of these,

memories when anything was possible.

Swinging so high into the hay below,

a silo seemed as though it was Apollo.

The horses ran across the lands great hollow,

dreaming of unexplored shallows.

Where frogs would croak under firefly’s light,

In the distant twilight quiet ponds grew into Lilliputian oceans.

Where thunder and lightning becoming heavenly bowling,

filled with Starlight’s spectral lights potion.

Oh, I remember;

but the best of these was love's devotion.
