Don't you love day lillies by the side of the road? I know I do.
Day Lillies by the Side of the Road
Day lillies gently moving in the breeze,
A summer day is sure to please.
Day lilles orange and sometimes yellow,
Make me a very happy fellow.
Day lilles blossom and thus bestow,
A summer tiara on the side of the road.
So lovely to see on road banks steep,
I almost see them when I sleep.
Summer mornings with hazy light,
Brightens my spirits after a dark night.
The day lillies grow and multiply,
And reach their blossoms to the sky.
I love to see the banks of flowers,
I wish I could spend lots of hours,
Driving around the country side,
Where the day lillies do abide.
I thank the Lord for such a treat,
For day lilles that each day I greet.
I hope that all who drive around,
Enjoy the lillies where they abound.
