It all started as a kid in the worst kind of ghetto slum...This is my story, told without bitterness and with no pretense at moralization...As a criminal and street-dweller, I went through many kinds of hell–including the hell of incarceration in a jungle-like world where the bigger fish ate the smaller, where the meanest wolf won the fight, and where the most cunning, cruel, and monstrous prisoners ruled the jungle.
Echoes Of An Oversoul
INTRODUCTION
I am a word wizard…and you’ve chosen to engage in this literacy marvel. This is not a pronouncement of doom, but rather a light for gloom. No, stop! Stop now–don’t you dare compare! This intro’ is not like any others you’ve ever read. ‘Cause this is for the law-breakers, street-dwellers, outcasts, disfranchised, less-fortunate and lovelorn. No, I’m wrong–it’s more! With the reading of this, there’s great consequences. So pay much attention to the warnings:
If you’re emotionally sensitive, and easily moved to tears, this is not for you. If you’re afraid of the dark, and afraid of ghostly-shadows, this is not for you. If you’re affected by insomnia; your sleep is very limited, this is not for you. If you feel like you’re an angel, perfect in all aspects, this is not for you. But, if you’re imperfect, and you’re old, young–or somewhere atween, this is for you. If you’re wayward; defiant; unruly–or downright hard-nosed, this is for you. If you’re driven by vanity and foolishness, this is for you. And if you’re afflicted and drunk, but not with wine–this is for you, too.
