A few of my favorite poems from my portfolio in honor of Easter.

The Rest of the Story

The cross is half the story
Of our salvation won
Without the resurrection
The war was but half done

So when I celebrate
The dawn on Easter morn
My eyes go to the tomb
Miraculously forlorn

So sing about the loss
And the rugged cross
Just don't forget to sing
Of our risen Lord and King

God Expelled

Can you imagine what life would be
Without the love of God to relieve?
Violence, hate, pain, melancholy
Running rampant without boundary

There are people who work to make it true
To expel God from all public view
Woe to every American today
If they manage to drive God away

Undeserved

shackled
burdened by sin
groaning with guilt
sorrowed and shamed
blind and lost
convicted by the Law
separated from God

suddenly, the Word revealed
boundless grace and mercy
reborn in Him
washed spotless white
bonds ever banished
reconciled to God
freed
