Forgiveness gives peace and sets a person free from guilt

Pardon

Forgiveness is like a singing bird,
Whose nest is watered upon the trees?
And hangs down with branches of fruit,
Reaching down with many leaves.

The heart is gladden by these,
And passes through that cycle of life,
Because love is come and the guilt has ease,
Where once dwells misery and strife.

Forgiveness craves the work of gold,
And silver holds the arms that bends,
To forget the look that hold,
Destiny in both hands.

And leave the soul at the peaceful shore,
The heart where forgiveness wash,
With distinct sweetness the conscience adore,
All who can forgive at a moment’s reach?

If you know you have this gift,
You already have integrity untold,
With everything that exist,
You’re worth more than silver and gold.
