Future Fear

This poem was written while I thought about how people fear the future. I feel that this is a world-wide sense of despair for our freedom. The government may truly be out to get us. When the time comes, what will I do?
Future Fear
When every evil thing
Is locked in cages,
We will have to decide
Where the next war rages.
For we are human beings
With bad habits of free will,
I used to taste the disgust,
I feel it lingers still.
Existential freedom?
I wonder of the cost,
Dreams of transcendence
May be forever lost.
If we do not heed the call
And change inside our souls,
Humanity was all in vain,
What's left is food for trolls.
Predictions come and go,
Few of them come true,
Failure can be a fortune,
Black turns into blue.
We will feel no more
Of the depth of sanity,
Spatial pictures paint
What has become reality.
We are one and one is all,
This I will never doubt,
But what of faith and hope?
Will you seek and scout?
I leave you with a thought
To ponder as you desire,
When death knocks on your door
Will you leap into Light or Fire?
