Wordpress is an excellent blog site that can easily be optimized using their internal SEO presser add-on. This article gives provides you with tips on how to use it to optimize your blog and posts and improve your rankings on the search engines.

Two Things to Never Ignore when blogging in WordPress or anywhere else:

The blog system that WordPress offers it's members is. However, getting your blog to rate well on Search Engines like Google is not a guarantee.

Two Things to Never Ignore when blogging in WordPress or anywhere else:

1. Post Tags

Post tags are keywords and long tail keywords that search engines use to rate content and order it in search results.

In order to get noticed and rank high, you must have tags that rank high in the search engines. Google analytics is a good place to go to see what keywords and long tail keywords are searched the most. When choosing your keywords, more specifically your long tail keywords, you want to make sure that they are highly searched but have lower competition. So look for things with a good balance between popularity and competition from other sites. Once you have chosen your keywords and long tail keywords put them in the Post Tags bar.

It is crucial that you have your long tail keywords in your title and headline of your post.

Write your post. Include images and video whenever possible as well as links to your capture page or other writing sites.

2. SEOPressor Score

The SEOPressor score will tell you how frequently you use your keyword.
Unfortunately, this only tests for exact keyword spelling and not variations in tense or plurality.

I hope they update this but in the meantime your keyword should be the main keyword in your long tail keyword.

For example, in this blog I would make my keyword SEO. I would type SEO into the SEOPressor Keyword bar and click SAVE DRAFT.

SEO Presser scans your posts and tell you what you need to do to improve your rankings

A list of items will appear that your blog must have in order to have good keyword density for search engine ranking. An x indicates that one of the requirements has not been fulfilled. A green check mark indicates that your content has fulfilled that requirement.

Take the time to edit and rewrite parts of your blog to meet the requirements and SAVE DRAFT periodically to check your progress.

Once you are satisfied with your keyword density, preview and publish your blog.
Remember to ensure that you have varying font sizes and colour as well as changes in the space on the page your text takes up to keep your reader interested.

H1, H2 and H3 in the SEOPressor Keyword Score checklist refer to the font size. The default font for WordPress is paragraph and you can find it here. When you click the arrow beside the font size Paragraph, you will see a list of sizes. Highlight the text you want to increase to H1, for example, and then click Headline 1. Next, make sure you have your keyword included in that text. Repeat this for Headline 2 (H2) and Headline 3 (H3) from the SEO checklist.

Your next step will be to go through your blog and inject your keyword.

SEO Presser will help you inject your keyword or keywords

Your next step will be to go through your blog and inject your keyword and long tail keywords in every paragraph and as often as possible without supersaturating the text with it. If your blog reads too salesy you will likely turn of the reader and lose any potential readers, prospects or customers… maybe for good.

Also, make sure you have links to your capture page and other posts on your blog. You can set those up as a PS… if you like this read more here… or to learn about such and such go here… etc.

Linking words phrases to your capture pages or other blogs every so often in the post is another way to increase your rankings and also guide readers to other work you have done. You are basically creating your own backlinks.

Another thing to do is repost content (where appropriate) on other blogs, sites, tweet and share wherever you can. Link your WordPress blog posts to other blogs or places you have written and published so if people like what they read or enjoy your style, they can read other content that may not be related will build positive rapport and increase your readership.

If you use Wordpress for your blog, I hope you found this useful.

SEOPressor Keyword scoring is a quick way to help you improve your ranking which will generate more traffic to you.
