This article is aimed at helping you produce your book cover using paintshop pro.
Destructive Melody Cover
This book cover was rather easy to design. You first of all need paint shop pro. I set the new image at 800 x 1280 pixels and resolution 300Dpi. I looked at what the book is about, and as the title was melody, I researched very early music manuscript archives, copied the pictures. I then used the fill tool and filled the image black, then cut and pasted the medieval manuscript into the image.
After I had done that, I then put the Title of the book using the text box and then the name of the author.
I saved it as a JPG file, and uploaded the cover when I had published the book, Destructive Melody.
The Battle in Dam
This was very easy to design. In fact I took a photograph of a river running through a small town in Northern France. I then opened up the new image at 800 x 1280 pixels at 300 Dpi, which is the resolution. I then copied and paste the image into the new image using new selection tool under edit.
After that I added the title of the book, and then the name of the author. It was then ready to publish as an ebook.
Violent Love
This book cover was very difficult to design. I had to find a lot of clipart to use. I had to first of all open a new image at 800 x 1280 pixels and 300 Dpi. I then had to search for appropriate images. I cut round them, played around with the patterns as the background before pasting the heart, and the couple into the main image.
Once I had finished, I was then able to add the title and name of the author. I wanted to make it an eye catching. It is not always easy to find the right design for the book. You have to rely on what the book is about, and not always on what the title says.
Santa's Daughter
If you run out of ideas for photographs for the front cover of your books, you can always ask family and friends to help out. My father helped me with this image. I didn't need to pay him. He was only too happy to help. He took the picture using his mobile phone.
I then opened up the new image at 800 x 1280 pixels at 300 Dpi, which is the resolution. I then copied and paste the image into the new image using new selection tool under edit.
After that I then added the title of the book and the name of the author. It is then ready to publish, as a free ebook at smashwords.com.

Luke I decided to self publish since my publisher went bankrupt owing me thousands on Te Deum and Lettre Fatale. I have just relaunched them in Violent Love. If you want any help to publish I wrote an article how to become an indie author, you can then let me see what you have done and I can help with any thing as long as I get mentioned for helping you, and a free copy of course:)

Hi, Kristina,
If you happen to read this, let me invite you, or other authors on this page for that matter, to a "Writer Friends" group created on FB, which include international writers (Wikinut and others). Mark Gordon Brown and Johnny Dod are there, too.
Click my FB email address and you will find us here: jim546c@yahoo.com
Thank you.
