Love is the Little Things is a poem about all the little things that make up love. A poem of love.
Love is the Little Things a poem
Love is the Little Things
Oh, love is great! We love to love love.
How it grows on us is usually
made up of many little things
that make us whole.
Holding hands, loving each other
without talking.
Silent longing stares, lovingly done words,
soft caresses,
hugs early in the morning.
Spooning. Spooning and more spooning.
Being as one in the early moments
of a new morning’s awakening.
Tender kisses, lips locking lips,
saying “I love you.”
Not saying it, but you know he does.
He doesn’t have to say it.
You know.
Cooking breakfast for each other,
washing the dishes, folding the laundry.
Taking turns, being kind, never yelling.
Telling each other how we feel.
Letting go to quiet times apart.
We both need to tend to our own gardens too.
Laughing together,
watching a movie, jumping at a scary scene.
Telling jokes, sharing stories,
telling each other childhood memories,
secret dreams, what our favorite things are,
how we learn and grow together.
Sharing a life, living each moment
in each other’s company.
Loving each other as if we only existed for each other.
Soulmates who dream together,
share our ups and downs,
struggle along with us, and share
in new happiness.
Love is after all the little things
gathered into a beautiful tree of life.

lovely poem. love is such a common topic for poems, i know, i write about it every time. but you made it so unique. i love it. ^_^
