Loves Growth is a poem about mothers love and the moments through growing up.
Loves Growth a poem
Loves Growth
When does love begin?
It starts when you are born
and you travel from mothers womb
the place you felt the warmth
and security.
The woman that is going to
love you forever
pushes you out into the world
that is filled with love.
Suddenly a beautiful baby
is born into the family
to fill their days with happiness.
As you grow, you learn what love is.
You love mommie and daddie
and your siblings.
You also learn to love your dolls or cars
and you find yourself sleeping with them
at night to lull you into slumber.
You suck on your blankie
and you learn about love
and you hold onto security.
As you grow and grow,
you learn about mean people
who are your peers.
Hurtfulness enters your life
and you learn to cry.
Your peers learn that they think
they can hit you and make you fall down.
You cry and run to mommie
who hugs you tight and patches up your wounds.
And as you grow,
you morph into a teenage girl.
You learn about puppy love in your early years
and then you learn to be a wallflower.
You discover the awkwardness of adolescence
and you wish that you could have a boyfriend.
Suddenly one day, you learn to love
and begin to french kiss and enjoy the heat
of the moment.
You have never felt it before
and it is all brand new.
And then you learn of heartache
and you cry and think you have
hit the end of the world.
And mommie’s love comforts you and lets you know
that k cera cera, what will be will be.
There are plenty of fish in the sea.
You lean on her perpetual love
and feel your power to go on
and grow your own garden
and let the sun
light your way
to the happiness of being you.
And as you grow and learn that sometimes love
isn’t meant to be,
you wait and tend to the garden
of your dreams
and when you aren’t looking
a brand new love
gets mailed to you
and it is the one that
marks your adulthood and a new journey
into motherhood
a place where suddenly
you learn to be the mother
that you always wanted to be.
You are your mothers daughter
and she resides in you
and as you look upon your new baby
love is renewed again.
And this love can never be broken.
It lasts forever
and even death
cannot kill it. Her love is too powerful
and nothing can break it.
And you hold onto love
and wisdom
as you grow and age.
And you watch as your child
in turn learns the meaning of love
so pure.
And you will in turn be there
to comfort her as she learns of sorrow
and you will tell her k cera cera
what will be will be.
