Delights for the Eye
Over the years I have been interested in many facets of the luxury business, clothes, food, wine and now furniture. It was my good fortune that brought me into contact with Ford Lininger when he was visiting Los Angeles. We spoke for quite a time and became friends so when I was in New York City, I visited Espasso to meet with him and then we went out to dinner in SoHo in the midst of swirling snow…so very exciting.
Recently I learned that Ford also is the agent for some of New York’s most design forward luxury furniture collections and it opened a window for me to write about a subject that is close to my heart...beauty in design, shape, texture and colour.
I wandered through the multi avenues of Lininger's very special products and now share my gleanings with you.
More Delights from Mr. Lininger
Ford himself has been immersed in the design industry for the past 15 years and not only has he developed and created collections for internationally acclaimed design leaders such as Odegard Carpets and Swarovski but his work has been featured in numerous international publications.
The Hyatt Andaz in West Hollywood and the Marriott Hotel in Brooklyn showcase his work. FORD LININGER LLC specializes in fine furniture, art procurement, project management and interior design for both residential and commercial properties like the following.
Brazilian designers and their connection with Mother Earth
ESPASSO has definitely one of the most dynamic modern and contemporary Brazilian furniture collections in the world and a very important factor is that the talented designers from Brazil are conserving that country’s rich heritage and taking care of Mother Earth. This innovative gallery has become a dynamic focus for interior designers, collectors, artists as well as museums.
STUDIO ON 12 receives a lot of attention because of the intricate artisan work created by Gregory Napolitan, a local wood sculptor who produces most of his work using a chainsaw. The first of this collection is an organic coffee table called ‘SISU’ made of Tung-oiled, hand-cut American Black Walnut with tempered ¾” glass. It is a showpiece yet marvellously functional.
KHOURI GUZMAN BUNCE LIMITED brings architecture into a fine line of handcrafted American furniture debuting now at its new showroom in Chelsea’s Gallery District. Modern clean lines by craftsmen working in fumed white oak, silicon bronze and borosilicate glass creating sophisticated pieces to grace any well-heeled room. KGB Limited also builds its creations using marquetry, leather molding and precious metal plating techniques besides a gorgeous line of seductive handmade silk and cashmere Tibetan carpets.
Lights, camera, action!
