My best friend died last night - I am devestated. How do you handle death?
My Best Friend Died Last Night
My best friend died and slipped away,
I wonder what I'll do today.
I cannot call or see her again,
Not sure what to do, or when.
She could charm you by a mile,
And always knew how to make me smile.
I wish she had not gone away,
I really tried to make her stay.
God had other plans, you see,
And took her far away from me.
She's in a better place, I know.
But oh how far she had to go.
She left behind her family,
And other friends, besides me.
We will grieve and then console,
Each other as on this road we go.
I won't forget nor will I find,
Another like her - I'm consigned.
I'll write about her with my pen,
And later hope to meet again.

My best friend passed in 2000 and I still miss her, to this day. I am so sorry. She misses you also and you two will meet up again. As will Cindy and I. Thank you for sharing.:(

You write so purely of your deep loss... and there is such beauty in that, I am so sorry for your grief ...wonderful poem and friendship Christine, keep your memories close to carry you through the pain, I will be thinking of you my friend and send a hug and many thoughts...

So sorry of your lost I lost a friend too and miss her everyday. It does get easier as once the pain go you can think of the good times you shared with her and be able to smile. hugs to you
