Why was Jesus sent to Earth? To save us from ourselves? God destroyed the entire world because humans were screwing up. When things were starting to look good, humans again started to screw up. God destroyed cities, armies, people, because they were not living for him. They were choosing self-salvation. Self-gratification. Must God destroy more? No. He tried a different approach. He decided to save instead of destroy. Jesus came for our salvation not his own. Compassion.

Recognizing Jesus' Salvation

It took your death for people to finally see the truth. Can't no ordinary man live through half of what you been through. People even doubted your reserection, they needed to see the proof. Some of them knew the truth, but were too afraid to move.

You came down and you were truly a heaven send. Made to walk like us, made to blend. You were a man who knew no sin. It was our sin you came to defend.

We killed you because we didn't know better. You stood up fo what you believed in, now that's a trend setter.

You walked everywhere just preaching the gospel. Some people thought you were just loud and obnoxious.

You healed people because of their faith. They needed that living water and you just gave them a taste. If they wanted more, they had to live by the word. And even today some people never even heard of it.

They mocked you on the cross and called you names. Spit in your face putting our race to shame. They said if you really are who you say you are, why doesn't your God come to save you. Why put you through this? Why not come to your rescue?

Your back was tore up and thorns were placed on your dome. I understand you were tired and ready to go home. I would've given up a long time ago but that's why I'm not you. There's no way I could endure all you went through. Even now, so many times my faith has been broken. Instead of praying I was just hoping. Like a wish upon a star, you know it won't come true. And I'm ashamed to say that many days that's how I treated you.
