A short poem about love going wrong, and the hope you still hold on to
Guilt and pain
I don’t know why you love me, I don’t know why you care.
You had your dreams you wanted, I wasn’t willing to share.
I made you give up everything, but still you love me so.
I guess sometimes no matter how hard you try, you never can let go.
The memories we’ve had, the ones we hope to share.
But how can that be possible when you’re not even there?
You wanted a lifetime of wonderful things.
And all I’ve given you is pain.
The guilt I feel will never end.
Until we can be one again.
To be with each other through heartache and pain.
To know it doesn’t always rain.
The sun will shine again someday,
and our love will light the way.
To each others arms we’ll go
heart to heart and soul to soul.
