A short story that gives out sounds, smells, noises and more. Hope you enjoy it.
Spooks
Walking inside, I could feel dusty, cold breathing upon my neck. The coldness surrounded me making me feel light headed and shivery. The cobwebs above glistened with spiders and wreaked of devilish stench. The air was like black smoke. I coughed, hoping my lungs were still intact.
Stretching my hand out, I touched a slimy banister. The sliminess against my finger tips gave a slithery sensation to my hand. I wanted to see everything. The tangy froth in the air didn’t scare me at first, but inspired me. I breathed in deeply, hoping each step upwards would not affect my inner strength.
At the top of the staircase, was a window smudged with dust. I touched the ledge and immediately, blackness scaled my skin. I rubbed my hand onto a stone wall, leaving a hand printed stain.
A Huge House
I shook myself. I wasn’t sure if I liked it here. The place seemed stale and unworthy, but had a certain charisma to it’s style.
I walked on. A huge landing appeared ahead of me. There were numerous doors along the corridor. I touched a door handle, turning it slightly to the left. There, to my amazement, was a large room painted in pink. I walked inside. The air was sweet and delicious. I could, almost, taste the perfection on my lips.
I went to the next room. The door was slightly ajar. I pushed it’s mucky handle and walked in. I coughed loudly. It was black with dirt. The light wood floor was covered in dust and I shivered when I heard scratching sounds coming from a cupboard. I began walking towards it, trying so hard to be brave. The shattering sensation from behind the cupboard door was unbearable. I had to overcome the spooky thoughts that gnawed at my insides.
Moving nearer, I touched the door. I slowly opened it and out swished a pair of wings so white, it almost ripped it’s claws against my knitted jumper. I laughed. How silly of me. It was only a pigeon stuck inside a smelly cupboard. Poor thing.
I, quickly, went downstairs. I’d seen enough. It was too much for me. Arriving at the bottom step, I heard pacing footsteps coming from my right. Walking towards double glass doors that were left slightly ajar, I could hear munching and crunching. Almost at once, I could feel my tummy rumble. The delicious smell of coconut and chocolate wafted directly into my nostrils. I hadn’t realized I was hungry until now.
Downstairs
The contrast from being upstairs was unbelievable. Of course, the lavish effects downstairs was as weird as being upstairs, because I could still smell the coconut and chocolate. I could still hear munching, but there was nobody insight. There was nothing on the round mahogany table. There wasn’t any sign of chocolate and the smell was getting stronger by the minute.
I looked around me expecting to see somebody else in the room, but I still didn’t see anyone. Suddenly, coldness overwhelmed me. I sensed somebody standing next to me. My entire body shook more than before and I immediately panicked.
Spooky
At that point, I heard creaking sounds. I turned around and walked out of the room. I jumped seeing the figure in the dim hallway.
“Oh, hello dear. What did you think? Did you like it?” I couldn’t smile, but just felt relieved at the sound of the lady’s voice.
“I think it’s unusual, but too large and spooky for me. There’s no way I’d buy this place. It would scare me too much to live in it. I’m really sorry for wasting your time.” I ran to my car as quickly as I could, leaving the estate agent standing in the door way with a bewildered expression on her face.

Really spooky. But I loved to spend the night, with a video and camera, in a haunted place. Not along, of course. :-). Thanks beautiful Denise.
