A poem of summer and childhood memories by the sea.
The Hidden Cove
There is a cove hidden near the woods
Where the only sound understood is the
Washing of the tide along the shore.
Waves burst into white upon the rocks,
A timeless rhythm wears down the day.
To a young girl's eyes
The ocean, smooth as sea glass,
Is always bright blue and glistening.
Clouds and Dreams
Clouds hang high and seem to fly
To distant mysterious shores…
Sea gulls pass by to bark a cry,
Offering their wide wings to shade the sky…
Childhood and Sunsets
Listen to the wind, the ocean laps against
The bottom of lobster boats as they moor…
Summer sounds wrap around me
Like a butterfly cocoon-
Daises and green grass are the bed for a nap,
Until the sun melting pink
Edges into the ocean….

Cannot fing the proper adjectives to do your and Mike's work justice. We've yet to have a winter in California - here in the mountains temperatures hover in the mid to high sixties. Something very strange going on.

I too am running out, as each piece of your art work Delicia, is just brilliant! Mike's photos are breathing taking as always. We have had nothing but summer, it seems. We finally reached the freezing point a few nights ago. I know y'all have had your share of cold, brrrrr kind of weather. Just lovely hon. As always, thank you for sharing.:)

Delightful as always dear Delicia (and Mike). Wonder where those clouds are heading....mysterious! Love your ending--so poetic: Until the sun melting pink
Edges into the ocean….
Yummy verb choice there.
