Do your kids also call you Sunday uncle? They will soon call you in case you are seen only on Sundays.
Work keeps daddy busy leaves early to work and comes home late.
When I was a child my mother was the only person I knew. She took care of all my needs. From bathing me to clothing and packing my lunch box to school. She often mentioned about my father but I have never seen him. When I was a little grown up I wondered whether I could browse the subject with my mother as I was curious to know who my father is.
I took the courage to ask her for some time as she was always busy with the chores in the kitchen or housekeeping. We sat for breakfast and were waiting for this uncle, I kept seeing for years now, who joins us on Sunday for breakfast. I felt this was the best time to browse on the subject. I had two questions in my mind. Who is my father? And who is this uncle who regularly joins us for breakfast on Sunday? During lunch and dinner on a Sunday all of us either went out to a restaurant or visited some family friend.
Meanwhile uncle came in with all his charm and joined us at the breakfast table. Should I or should I not browse the subject today? I decide to go ahead after tossing my coin. I put on an expression which made my mother to prompt me to go ahead with my question. I reconfirmed with mother and shot the question aloud. I was relieved as I no longer had to bear the suspense.
My mother did not know how to react. She looked at uncle and asked him to explain. She in fact left the breakfast table and wanted some space for herself. No doubt I had raised a very awkward question but I needed answers. After all both my questions were genuine and with no ulterior motive. The Sunday uncle is none other than my father who left early to work before I woke up and returned home much after I slept. I had both the questions answered in one shot.
I wish never to be called Sunday uncle by my own children like I used to call my father.

Smoothoperator; this is so touching. I think many people can relate to this. Parents are so busy these days. They should put time aside for their children everyday. The time spent with them will be memories that last forever:)
Thanks for sharing:)
