Even when a dishonest act has been commited the rich and famous are portrayed in a better light.

The Class System cover-up using Language.
In my opinion it has become more evident over recent years that a newspaper and television cover-up moves into first gear when a member of the rich and famous has commited a wrong deed. When members of the elite class who have committed either moral wrong or blatant criminal crime the use of language tries to be-little their act as if by using elaborate discription their crime is less 'real' or has more 'reason' before the actual commitment than say that of a less weathy or educated person.
Adulteror or Cheating Rat?
How often have you been shocked when it has been revealed that a married member of Parliament has been caught cheating with his 'personal assistant' (may they be same sex or otherwise). Almost immediately the press rallies round seeking reasons for his 'indiscretions' or the fact that he had been under a lot of ministerial pressure or away from home for long periods of time (just the same as our armed forces but hardly life and death). They put his or her adultery down to the couple having been working through a time of estrangement . Worse still they have a special 'invented' illness for the really famous called 'Sex addiction'.
If on the other hand you are much lower down the social scale you are bombarded with words like 'love cheat' and two timing rat to name but a few.
Thief by any other name
Various people of amazing wealth have been caught shoplifting over the years. They have probably been doing it for years and take a thrill from their dishonest acts. When a famous person is caught their upbringing is always mentioned or the fact they are a 'kleptomaniac'. Yet a poorer person who may even be homeless is portrayed as almost the Devil when they commit the same crime. Labelled thief or low life scum they are already receiving harsher labels than their famous counterpart. Is this a conspiracy using the delicacy of language to hood wink the listener or newspaper reader?
Tax , no one wants to pay.
The global disaster we are all facing due to mainly the bankers greed is one emotive subject that effects us all. Similar to this is Tax. Nobody really wants to pay tax. From the days of Jesus to the years of Robin Hood, tax payment has and always will be loathed. Yet here we have the most imbalance in todays British society The super rich can move abroad to places like Monaco so as to avoid paying one single penny of their earnings and yet the poorer working class are hounded with threats of £100 pound if they hand in tax returns late. How ironic then when tax lawyers are readily available that when a rich person is found to have evaded paying their due that the full weight of 'new words' come into use. No simple discription for these people will do, no tax cheat or thief used in headlines. They are given niceties like Tax efficiency and avoidance of Taxation. My case rests your honour.

What a well written star page my friend. I do not know much about the British political/financial aspect y'all have been going through these last few years. We have had enough crap here in the US to keep my mind busy. I agree with most of your points. Nice read. Congrats on the star page, it is well deserved. Thank you for sharing.:)
