Normally, clowns are supposed to entertain others, keep kids happy, put a smile on everyone's face.
But not this clown. The clown here does entertain. Problem is, he only entertains himself.
A Dark Phase
My name is Shanon and our town has entered a dark phase. Not because of extremism, not because of an outbreak of a disease but because of this one man. Or should I say clown?
Many horrifying incidents took place in this town recently. And every attack had one thing in common: A person in a black suit and a clown mask. The 'clown' has been terrorizing our town for days. No one knows where he came from or who he is.
But they all knew his reputation.
A week ago, there was this robbery at a jewellery store. But when the police arrived, they found the jeweler murdered. And next to his body, was another dead blood-soaked body.
It was the body of the robber! But, all the jewels were missing.
Security footage showed that after the robber collected the jewels, he shot the jeweler dead.
Then, out of nowhere, a man in a clown mask and a black suit appeared behind the robber and stabbed him in the back without warning. He stabbed him about twenty more times until the robber was no more. The robber fell down, dead and the ‘clown’ collected the jewels and walked away.
Three days ago, the ‘clown’ snuck into somebody’s house and poisoned the food laid out on the dining table. Thirty minutes later, a family of four were admitted to the hospital. They had eaten poisoned food. The ‘clown’ had struck again.
Yesterday, a very rare gemstone was reported stolen from the museum despite the fact that there were six guards guarding it. Five were found murdered and the sixth one was missing. No one ever heard from him again.
A Final Scare
Now today, I was sitting in my house, waiting for someone. It was 10:00 in the night. All of a sudden, the doorbell rang.
“He’s here.” I sighed. But when I opened the door, no one was there.
Then I heard a sound in the kitchen. I ran towards it and gasped. The back door was wide open. Who opened it?
I turned around to see the grinning face of the ‘clown’.
“I was waiting for you.” I said. “You gave me quite a scare.”
The ‘clown’ nodded.
“C’mon,” I told him. “Let’s pack our stuff.”
The ‘clown’ nodded and left the kitchen. This was the third town the ‘clown’-or Mike- had terrorized. The two of us earn our living this way.
My eyes welled up with pride the moment I looked at the stolen loot. My mouth actually watered. We're living good tonight!
