A poem about how we get to where we are right now - some kind of funny lottery. Is it chance? Is it experience? How do you feel?

The Lottery of Life

I really wish I knew,
I only hope I can.
How can this be so?
Please help me understand.

How did we get this way?
How can it be this tough?
Please know that I am trying,
And trying very much.

I think that life just happens,
Not as we want it to.
Oh, come on and listen,
And tell me what to do!

This lottery I'm living,
I'm kinda getting bored.
Please send me on a mission,
Or cut me to the core.

I'm sure that there's a reason,
I'm sure there is a rhyme.
But honestly I can't find it,
But maybe in lots of time.
