The Weary Sky

A February thaw melts the snow and leaves a barren but achingly beautiful landscape...
Shattered Sky
February thaw is a gentle sigh,
Winter melts into the ebbing tide.
Heavy and gray
Silence shatters on the seagull's mournful cry .
Dark clouds rush by filling an empty horizon.
Lonely Sky
The bare souls of trees
Brush against the silver sky.
Fragile shadows in the cold winter breeze
Etching a seascape of loneliness.
Harbor Sky
Over the harbor shore tranquility washes its pale light.
Green pines are lost in the depth of the bay,
Fading into shades of gray...

Ivy good morning:0)! If I picked one season at this time in my life- I would have to say autumn is my very favorite...As a child winter ruled...LOL-I have been feeling a bit under the weather this last week and did not go with Mike when he took these photos...I love them they are so very moody-we have had some crazy weather this winter, I do not think this VERY early thaw will last - we could get more snow at anytime-temperatures have been up and then- way down again. thanks Ivy I will be busy later today catching up with all of the articles I have missed, looking forward to some good hours of catch up reading....:0)

You make even a thaw sound beautiful! You also remind me that our summer here in NZ, that has been pretty elusive so far, will soon come to an end. Another enjoyable poem Delicia.
