We start with a great idea, but somewhere along the way we get lost or the activity stalls for whatever reason. It is not time to get back on track. This inspirational thought of the day is part of a year long series by Peter B. Giblett.

Sometime With the Best Will in the World We Get Stalled

In "You Don’t have to Get it Right, You just have to Get it Going" I stated that "We are often afraid to start any project simply because we are afraid that the final outcome will not be perfect or because we cannot envision how it will end".

One other problem we face is that we get something started, then, in spite of our aspirations the idea stalls; we get stuck in to mud; or worse we start to think it is a bad idea.

Trouble is this is when negativity can set in and we go nowhere. If the thing we started was a bad idea than that is not a problem we can cut it loose and move on to the next great thing. Yet good ideas also get stalled and then once we feel like dropping them it is as if they instantly turn bad.

So ...Lets Get it Going Again!

If an ideas is good then we need to pick it back up and get it moving again. Remember you don’t have to make it perfect, you just have to get it going again. Once you are sure the benefits are worthwhile then get it moving again.

The question "are you ready?" is of course vital. You have to put yourself in the right mental frame of mind to ensure things move forward again. You have to become ready again and that is vital. Your mental preparedness is all the more important.

That is where I am stuck, Peter. I have what seems an overwhelming task and I must start on it. I have to find the willpower to begin. Thank you for today's message.

Sometimes we have to break down those overwhelming and large tasks in order to make them viable. You do not complete a novel all at once, you have to write it word by word, sentence by sentence, page by page till it is complete.

I have been hit with the 'I am stuck in the mud' on two projects. I just need to get my butt going, I hear ya. Even though I am doing other things, those two keep stuck in the back of my mind. What a idiotic way for me to add more stress to my life. Great advice. Thank you for sharing.:)

Dense, remember to take it one step at a time. Don't let the enormity overwhelm you.

Good advice, Peter. I tend to start something then procrastinate.
