A poem about using your mind and your thoughts to help you gain more to life.
Use Your Mind and Your Thoughts
What is there to see?
When you stand in the street
Watching the traffic go by
And seeing people crossing the road.
Standing still could give us a harmony of peace.
Is there such a thing?
How do we know if we cannot see it?
What if we stood still for a moment?
Taking in what is really going on
Being quiet as we become aware of our universe.
Darkness
Wouldn't it be a good thing if we could sense
A power within us making us feel
That the world is powerless
Except for our own thoughts guiding us through,
A world so deep in evil pain that we eventually become united
With a force so great that it shocks us to the core.
Giving us a realization that the thoughts in our head
Can surely give us a magic to do whatever we want.
To perserve our own lives
To make them great
By using our minds
As if it were the most powerful thing,
That could help us see that magic is within us.
If we can only see and use our senses to become more aware
Is there a way to do this?
Can it be done?
Yes. It can.
Just close your eyes
Meditate for ten minutes per day,
And then you will see what goes on,
And what can happen if we use our minds and thoughts
To conquer all that goes on.
To do this, you must be strong,
Discovering yourself again
And live using your mind and thoughts
To guide you along.

Thought provoking, Denise. I think the same way, but I don't allot specific time for meditation - I do it on the go. I know it is less effective!
I try to look outwards to observe nature including us, and also try to look inwards. My prayers are just to make me useful till my last breath. For that, all negative thoughts have to be kept away. If some are negative, I feel they have been wronged in some way and I have brought some cheer in them, making my day! - siva

Lovely poems, Denise! I take moments throughout the day, when I notice my breathing or if I feel stressed, to focus on my breathing and relax. It helps relieve stress and allows me to organize my thoughts and feel peaceful.
