We have a free enterprise, capitalist system, so let's milkthemfor all we can get. It's the American way, right?
Sony Music wasted little time doing their civic duty by offering Whitney Houston's legions of fans across the globe access to purchasing her Greatest Hits album as soon as they could after her death. Of course their action is very much appreciated, and we cannot thank them too much. It took Sony thirty minutes to jack up the price of the album by sixty percent. Why thirty minutes? They needed to show us how civic minded and responsible they are, so they couldn't just rush out and immediately jack up the price by sixty percent without the most careful consideration for their consumers' needs. On behalf of her millions of fans, I want to be the first to offer Sony my congratulations.
