A whimsical poem about cats and how can definitely can't tell them what to do.
You Can't Tell a Cat What To Do
Have you noticed, I have found,
That cats walk and make no sound.
If you try to give an order,
The turn around and ask for water.
They sit there oh so very polite,
And listen closely, as they might.
You try to get them see your way,
I really try this every day.
I beg and plead and beg some more,
Then they roll across the floor.
They sit so nice and pretend to be,
A member of our family.
I just give up, I'll never try,
To get my cat to apply,
The rules of dogs who do obey,
At least most of every day.
