I know not everyone can relate but these place are really good that makes Philippines good in attracting local and foreign investors. Baguio, being the "summer capital" of the Philippines not only boast its good climate and spectacular tourist attractions but it also has a lot to offer.

I'm really thankful i came...

“To see is to believe”, that’s what the old clique said, and I, myself personally believe in this saying. I’m not opting to being a judgmental, neither an easy believer. I usually have to try anything and see for myself every side of the coin before I believe in the things presented to me…

Until such day that we had to travel from Angeles routing to different destinations for our required field-trip. Honestly I was ready for the trip, yet the two sides of my mind are battling right after I learned about it. My negative side is wondering what benefit will I get in that trip again, nothing it insist, it will only cost me money, effort to wake up before dawn to prepare my things and myself as well and missed classes because it will be held on weekday. But as the positive side of me insist that it will be very beneficial for me to join the said trip, aside from the fact that it’s required. I decided I want to come and explore another way of learning.
And I’m very thankful that I came, why? I had so much fun, and I really learned a lot.

Before the trip I went a bit sad learning that I can’t be with my friends on the bus assignment since we have different instructors but then I felt okay knowing that my one friend can accompany me. We spent most of our travel time eating, throwing jokes and chatting with each other while looking forward for our first destination, the Poro Point Economic and Free port Zone in La Union.

Since we departed late from Angeles City, we arrived at La Union by almost 10 0 clock. And from then we spent our time listening to the speaker from Poro, she told us a lot of things about how Poro Point earns millions of money because of locators like Voice of America and some establishments like the Tourism Complex, San Fernando Airport and the Sea Port where many goods are being transported in and out the country.
It’s really nice visiting Poro, it’s just too unfortunate that we can’t explore the place because of the rainy wheather.

Our next destination is the Benguet State University (BSU) where we had been able to explore their production process of sweets like peanut brittle, ube, strawberry jam and some souvenir items like mugs and shirts. We also explore their Bakery area and are able to savor the smell of their breads.

Our third destination is the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA). The speaker inform us the nature of business of PEZA, she told us their locators and added that PEZA grants fiscal and non-fiscal incentives to developers of economic zones, export producers, and I.T. service exporters. We also learned that PEZA offers ready-to-occupy locations to foreign investors who are export producers or IT service exporters in world class and environment friendly Economic Zones and I.T. Parks / Buildings.

After PEZA, we went to Teacher’s Camp to check in and take a rest from our tiring day. Then in the morning after, we went to Benguet Trading Post where all vegetables from Baguio and near places are placed for sale either wholesale or in retail.

It is really a nice trip for me and now that I had been able to see first hand all of this, I still can’t believe my eye that I had a close encounter with some of the growing companies here in our country and wish that someday, if my wings are much stronger then, I can also be part of their ever growing population. And be able to apply what I learned in and out the school.
