My son was going through a rather acrimonious divorce and at one point his ex wanted to stop him seeing his son whom he loves dearly. I as his Father ahd a feeling of hopelessness, there was nothing that I could do. All is OK now though.

This is the resultant poem that came to my mind when my son was seemingly losing his son,my Grandson, to his ex wife.

She wants to take my Boy Dad, she wants to take my Boy.
A cry of despair wrought from the heart of my Son.
She wants to take my Boy.

What shall I do Dad, what shall I do?
How can I answer this desperate call?
She wants to take my Boy.

What can I say Son, what can I say?
Practical advice is just not enough to answer this cry.
She wants to take my Boy.

I don’t know how Son, I don’t know how.
A feeling so hopeless from the call of his heart.
She wants to take my Boy.

Cry Of Help, Despair, Hopelessness

I have been writing poetry for a few years now and use it as a release for all types of feelings. I do not follow any set rules poetry as I find I cannot get the feeling correct if I use the rules.

Thanks Lynett, all is fine. I am in awe of the love my son shows to his son - I am a lucky man.
