I leave behind the one thing that is more dear to me than my very life: Chichevache Farm. It's now yours, my son.

A Feast for Chichevache, Prologue conclusion

Chelsea, London
April 26, 1988

Dear Alan,

As you are probably aware, I've been suffering ill health lately and it was my desire that you, my only next of kin, should be by my side to comfort me.

Alan, you're not a child anymore and I suspect that you may have tied the know with Kate Higgins - naturally without my consent.

I leave behind the one thing that is more dear to me than my very life: Chichevache Farm. It's now yours, my son.

On the reverse of this note is a mapped route. Mr. Sutton has the keys. Feel free to move around but, under no circumstances, enter the barn. If you do, you will not only betray my trust in you, but, also, endanger your very soul.

Not a word to Kate Higgins - (or should I say, Mrs Stone?)

Goodbye.

With Love,

T. Stone.
