A Few of My Haiku

Haiku is a poetic form that is fun to do but also a very effective form of poetry to capture a single moment or even a feeling. I have posted here a few of my haiku poems that I had written a while back.

I started writing haiku a while back and found myself becoming a little bit addicted to it. In fact, I even stopped writing free verse for a while and concentrated mainly on haiku, however, I will eventually get back to writing free verse again,

I have posted a link here where you can learn how to do haiku and hopefully give it a try yourself.

The haiku's I chosen to post here are all on the same theme; animals and that is because I really love them and nature.

1) The Zoo Life

The metal door clanged
the lock slid, and the bear stood

waiting..... to be heard!

2) A Dog's Life

the dog flicked dirt
his paws racing to find - what?

He was having fun!

3) Nature's Colours

The fox's fiery stare
its auburn grace imprints the

quiet winter snow......

I love to write - I go through stages of expression - sometimes I concentrate on poetry and then other times I attempt short stories.

back when I wrote for a site call Helium, I wrote many Haikus. I am not sure what I did with them.
