A Gift From My Grandmother

A ten year old girl, having a conversation with her grandmother, these words of wisdom was her gift to me, and that gift is still alive and well, living inside my heart.

A Gift From My Grandmother

Over the years, I have had many a conversations with my grandmother, and I am sure I have forgotten more of those conversations then what I remember. It's funny how one day in your life can stand out above all the rest, for me, it was a Sunday morning, standing in the church hall, putting on my choir robe, when I asked my grandmother, while wearing this robe and singing on the children's choir, will it make me a better person.

My grandmother looked me straight in the eye, with so much love in her eyes and said, granddaughter, the robe you can put on and take off, but is the heart you must change, the heart. My grandmother's gift still lives within my heart. Well, the years have passed and my grandmother is no longer with me. What better gift can a grandmother give to her granddaughter.

Hi Shirley, This is my second comment but after reading the last article about the blessed Virgin Mary appearing to you, I wanted to come back again and read your grandmother's word. She was so right - it is what's in our hearts. Blessings my friend.
