A King has been born

King Farouk of Egypt once said “In a hundred years from now there will only be five Kings left
The King of Hearts the King of Spades the King of Clubs the King of Diamonds and the King of England

The Monarchy

I am unashamedly a royalist a brit who is very proud of his country and monarchy; I believe that the monarchy has been a steadying force in my country’s history, and apart from the period between 22 August 1642 and 3 September 1651 (9 years, 1 week and 5 days) a monarch has ruled this country of mine

There is a movement in the United Kingdom called “Republicanism in the United Kingdom” this a legal movement that seeks to eradicate the British monarchy and replace it with a either an elected president, an appointed head of state with little power or leaving the political system as it is but without a monarch.

To Celebrate

With the birth in mind I have written a poem to celebrate our new future King I don't suppose I will still be alive when he is King but I am sure Britain will remain a Kingdom for ever.

My poem

A king has been born his subjects will rejoice
The King of Great Britain and countries of choice
Of Canada Australia New Zealand and Jamaica
Grenada, Barbados, Bahamas, New Guinea
The world will delight along with the Brits
From Saint Vincent, Belze Antigua Saint Kitts
The island of Nevis and Papua New Guinea
The rich and the poor the fat and the skinny
The Solomon Islands and little Tuvalu
Saint Lucia the Grenadines Barbuda to name but a few
I hope you will join me to give a loud cheer
Now that the king is finally here

I have my doubts that the monarchy in England will survive another 50 years. All the same let the British who believe in the monarchy rejoice. All the best from me.
