We were established with good principles, but have now gotten off course and ventured far afield from what our Founding Fathers wanted. We must get back on the right path started so long ago!

A Long, Long Way and Far Ago

A LONG, LONG WAY AND FAR AGO

A long, long way and far ago,
Our Forefathers thought long on dreams,
We started down this blessed road;

They discussed and railed to reach goal,
Trying to ensure our freedoms,
A long, long way and far ago;

They searched high and low for our soul,
The paper they wrote – fit it seems,
We started down this blessed road;

Capturing freedoms into fold,
And shining from its bright light beams,
A long, long way and far ago;

Nothing perfect but build on old,
Best of all law and moral seams,
We started down this blessed road;

But now we’ve ventured way too bold,
Crossing vast, unfordable streams,
A long, long way and far ago,
We started down this blessed road.
