A Point of Time

This is a poem of autumn by the sea, and a place in all our hearts called home.

Today

With a wisp of salty breath
Autumn beckons me
To this point
At the end of land
Where the sky meets the sea.

Yesterday

Alone at the edge
Where I stand,
The tall pine trees geometric lines
Dissolve into the smooth of the ocean’s shine.

Tomorrow

I belong to these hills
That slope gently onto the shore,
Where the tide sweeps wide
To the perfect blue of the sky.

The Promise

The fields are anchored by the harbor.
Secured beneath the shadows of each day,
Time and the cadence
Of the seasons' change-
Until we too are a memory...

Morning Buzz glad to "see" you, Mike has just taken some new really wonderful shots around are stomping grounds...I am so blessed to have such a selection to pick from , after I finish a poem it takes me more time than the actual writing to choose the photo I want to go with my poem ...because they all are PERFECT pictures, they are more of a poem than any mere words of mine... each one touches my heart...

I love colorful poems. This is that poem Delicia. Bravo! Good work writing. Do you belong to a writer's club? I am going to start attending our local chapter soon. There is so much more I know I can learn. Thank you for writing this beautiful poem from the heart. I sat back and enjoyed reading this on this November morn. God bless you hun and all that you accomplish! BTW, I loved your last line, "Until we too are a memory which reminds me Delicia, Joe Frazier the boxer has passed on. He was under the care of Hospice. he is a bit of our past, isn't he? Do you recall his 'battle' with Ali? My all-time favorite performer was there, Elvis Presley! Take care today and always my friend. Smiles, Bets

Even if there were no images Delicia , the words of your poem would stand beautifully on their own merit.
Bless you
Stella
