The Federal Government must apportion and levy its taxes on the States themselves, as originally envisioned in the Constitution. Anything else will soon result in the same tyranny. Let's rescind the damage done to the Constitution in 1913.

Eliminate the IRS, and give the States power over their Senators.

What is now necessary is for ordinary citizens like you and me to join in forcing our government to accept the new reality of the global market, and to come up with a plan that will make our country strong, and allow us to compete and prosper by becoming fiscally sound. The sooner this happens the better. Strong presidential leadership, such as we have not had since Reagan left office, would make this much easier to accomplish. We cannot depend on Congress to do anything except follow, if that. The only candidate of either party who shows any promise of accomplishing this, in my opinion, is Ted Cruz.

Much has been said about a Balanced Budget Amendment. Even if there is the will to pass it, there is no reason to think Congress has the discipline to follow it. It routinely overrides its own debt ceilings, or passes on to the President the power to do so, supposedly removing their own responsibility for the higher limits. We need a President who would refuse to accept any budget that was not fiscally responsible, and who insisted on the reduction of our national debt.
Even with a President who insisted on fiscal sanity, there is almost no chance of budget sanity unless legislators feel individual accountability in the way they spend the public's money. That must all be done through the States. The States must be in a position to force the Federal Government, and their own Senators in particular, to keep a clean house.

There is no room in the original Constitution for the Federal Government to deal with individual citizens in any capacity (except in the limited situation of actual employees or agents), whether collecting taxes, or paying benefits. That must all be done through the States. Anything else is tyranny over individuals. This has implications not only for the economy, but for individual freedom and States Rights as well. Basically it is a call to rescind the damage done to the Constitution in 1913.

Our leaders knowingly did two bad things that year: Created the IRS, and made Senators unaccountable to their own states. We must revoke these amendments, if we want a responsible Congress: Eliminate the IRS, and give the States power over their Senators. The Federal Gov't must apportion and levy its taxes on the States themselves, as originally envisioned in the Constitution. Anything else will soon result in the same tyranny. Let's put things back the way they were.
