This is a short tribute poem about a wee dog called Jack.

A Tribute To Jack

Little man in black and white;
All seeing eyes as dark as night.
I heard you tale and was aghast
that you'd survived a shocking past.

Your story did my anger fuel
that so called humans are so cruel.
Your birth was just to line a purse.
Greed like this can't get much worse.

All those years in a filthy cage,
one cannot help but fill with rage.
The mental stress beggars belief;
Allandale was such a relief.

The years of comfort just flew past
For those who knew you, much too fast.
Sleep in peace, you've earned your rest;
To fight your cause we'll do our best.

Ban puppy farming we will shout;
We'll drive these heartless beings out.
What goes around, come round too -
Trust us, we know it's true.

Your memory will fire us on;
Upwards and onwards, the day will dawn.
When souls like you won't know your pain;
A dog's life will be great again.

Goodnight Jack

Puppy mills are horrific, everyone should know that buying from pet stores supports cruelty.

This was very touching, I too rescued my Duke from a puppy mill and I try to make him the happiest dog on Earth. I am going to give some extra kisses now, while I can.

They are indeed, I just wish puppy factories, battery hens and such like were all completely illegal so there was no suffering to animals - they are meant to be our best friend yet we treat them with such abuse and cruelty.

Jack always looked, so confused and dazed throughout his time, until about the last month, one day whilst out for a walk his eyes just lit up and he seemed so much happier and looked like he had come to realise that life was to be enjoyed.

Justice will be done and rewards too will find their way, ultimately. We hear the promptings but we refuse to mend our ways. Thank you for the share - siva
