A boy wins a big bar of chocolate at a scouts day out. His father said he stole it.

A big bar of Chocolate

Sitting on a concrete stair in the back garden, not allowed out,
I won a big bar of chocolate at scouts and my dad says I stole it,
So I have to stay in for a whole month, on my summer holidays, Grrr,
Mates knock, can Terry go out, absolutely no way, the boy's a thief.

I look at the garden, it was a wasteland, dug up clay around edges,
There was a brown patch, the vegetable garden, a radish grew there once,
Four weeks of this and I will run away, another seed from the back garden,
I wish I had never won the bar, but it would probably been for something else.

So bored I began to throw lumps of mud at a post at the back of the garden,
Then I thought it would be a good idea if I threw them over the house roof,
A frighting scream from our alleyway, my father, had been hit by lumps of clay,
The back gate was thrown open, my father screaming for me to get inside, Jesus.

I survived that day but it was far from easy, my ears were red as berries, it hurt,
When ever he did something I would make for the door, putting a newspaper down, anything,
Hard times, I got hit on the back of my head, inside my head it was flashes of light,
And so another person is lost in this working class maize, try to rise above, I cannot.
