A bit of a bio about me and what I do, for the most part, in my life

The details of my most recent performances in Atlanta

Progress report, Laurel Grove, Five Forks Trickum Rd, Lawrenceville Ga.

Today went great! Just as I had in Macon (though there I was not given a choice) I set up in the Great Atrium, facing the main entrance (I am standing across the atrium with my back to the door as I take this photo).
The sound was pretty good, and got better as I tweaked it. I used my headset mic (I hate that thing though, it kills my head after just a few minutes. Cousin Glenn was going to get me the one he has to try, but that hasn't materialized...yet ) so the vocals were much fuller.
There were far fewer in attendance than in Macon, fewer in fact than I normally get in the other room, at least I think so, since this was a space which was so much larger...
After I finished, and the new AD and I were booking me for two return dates in Jan and Feb...I asked her about what I had heard, that facilities would provide a room for an out of town performer.
She said that (at the Holiday Touch facilities like Laurel Grove and Pine Gate) they would charge the performer a $75 per night fee (which included all your meals), but that they would reduce that if you reduced your performance fee.
She has just come to Atl from being the ED of a facility in Birmingham Ala, so she knows what she is talking about, AND she told me that MY fee is VERY reasonable, compared to other performers (especially after she saw my show, and the Residents' response to it)...she said she had one guy call her today asking for dates, who wanted $125 per hour performance!!!!!
She said that if I was interested in 'going on the road' she knew the ED's in several and that there are 6 in Ga alone, so this is a real possibility.

Veterans Day at Southern Plantation in Loganville Georgia

This performance was...different. There were two gentlemen from the local "American Legion", who passed out American Flag pins to Veterans (I got one).
Then, unbeknownst to me AND to the AD...someone had arranged for the local Junior ROTC from Grayson High School to come and do a "Present the colors" ceremony, with the American Flag, the flags for each of the five service branches. I have four of the five songs (Don't have the Coast Guard yet) so I was able to play those songs as each flag departed the room.
Once all this was over, I gave them a good show. Several told me "you are the BEST entertainment we have that comes here".... that's what it's all about folks.
