A letter to my younger self

If I had the chance to turn back the hands of the clock, I would do some things differently, make and stand by decisions which may appear controversial to some (my family and friends) but be suitable for me.

Below are what I would have said to my younger self.

Dear Wogiam

How are you and what have you been up to lately? Are your exciting and vivid dreams becoming true and how much are you working to keep them alive and as colourful as they used to be?

You are one beautiful, smart, kind, hardworking, caring and unique individual (seriously you are all of this and more). No one can be you and you cannot be any one else either.
The last time, we soul searched, you were begining to fall out of love with yourself, paying too much attention to the opinions of those around you, allowing what the society and family dictated to influence you and not in the best of ways. That gift of yours to say things as they are and stand up for yourself and others is not "pride", it is an inner strenght and a sign of confidence.

Do not give up your dreams of taking those exams, of applying for that job, even if it requires plenty of travel, you are smart enough to make things work both with your family life and career. It is better to live life on your own terms than on those of others, in the end you can never really please everyone. You learn best from your own experiences.

Live, Learn and Love

Make the most of opportunities which come your way, procastination is an enemy of progress.
Accept mistakes, learn from them and move on. Hold no grudges and know when and who to give second chances to, you are not perfect and then no one is.
Keep your few good old friends, as one grows older, real friends are diificult to find.
Live life, over challenges, learn something new every day, read, expand your horizons, love and laugh.
Keep you faith and never forget that you are blessed and highly favoured, you are a convenant child who was created for a purpose.
Continue to believe in yourself, you deserve the best.

Take care, always.

yes words of wisdom and I agree so very much especially regarding..paying too much attention to the opinions of those around you, allowing what the society and family dictated to influence you and not in the best of ways. That gift of yours to say things as they are and stand up for yourself and others is not "pride", it is an inner strenght and a sign of confidence.

this is a good way to obtain wisdom from yourself to write to yourself like this.

It takes a certain "strength" though to post a personal letter like that onto this site though, thanks WOGIAM for doing so.

I saw someone at the post office but I seriously don't know whether it was you. She was intelligent, charming, quick witted ...
