Accused Me of Sleeping With Her

Never sit on the front row of a comedy show. That's an important thing to know.

Comedy Show

I can never get comfortable when I am traveling. It doesn't matter if I am on a plane or in the terminal...there is just never a comfortable place to hang out.

Actually, I take that back. The United Services Organisation (USO) does have some great lounges for active and retired military. The best one I have ever seen is at the Denver International Airport. It is spacious and has some great chairs to lounge in while you wait for your connection. The food and beverages are free...but donations are accepted.

The USO is an amazing organization. Bob Hope is perhaps the most famous ambassador for the organization. During World War II, Korean and Vietnam conflicts he would travel the world putting on great shows for the men and women in uniform.

When I was in Kuwait in 2000, the USO had three HBO network comedians come and do a show. I was the base 1st Sergeant and one of my 1st Sergeant colleagues decided to sit near the front so we could show our support to the younger troops.

Unfortunately, one of the comedians decided to hack on me and my colleague. Did I mention she was a female? The comedian started cracking jokes as if she and I were sleeping together. The troops knew that per general order #1, there was not supposed to be any sexual activity between Airmen. That made it even more embarrassing. I learned that night to not sit on the first row or 2 of a comedians act.

But, it was a great night and I am always proud to speak highly of the USO!!!

You sure the comedy gal didn't save the first-row seat for you? (Just kidding!) Now you know where not to sit.

Thanks for this great share ~ Tony. Two or three years ago I had the privilege of waiting in the USO Lounge at a couple of different airports ~ when traveling with active duty military personnel ~ and I agree they are wonderful places to wait for the next flight ~ especially for extended periods of time.
