Adapt

Ups and downs in life are compared to the weather and an old town clock in this poem. While we can't change certain things, there is hope in acceptance and I believe the ability to adapt leads to well being in our lives.

Adapt

Low pressure system today
air heavy, weighing down
unsure what to do
next

Luminous sun prays
hidden in clouds
before impending storm
swirls up

Leaving the day in shambles
empty now to what could be -
a bright sunny day....
tomorrow will see

Adapt 2

Seek shelter for now
until time evolves
whether nicer
or we adapt

Like the hands on
an old town clock
always moving ahead
no matter what time shows
or inclement weather brings
until completely spent

Adapt 3

And everyone knows
not to expect
anything different
from weather
or the old
town clock.

Uplifting verse encouraging us to stay on the course of life, thanks Maria for the share with lovely images too. Ups and downs are not only part of life but also in the whole creative process. Change what we can for the better and and accept those we cannot, steadies us - siva

The first two verses are very appropriate for me today as we are awaiting the arrival of a hurricane in a few hours. I know your poem was about life and I completely agree with your take on it. Blessings.
