More Adventures Exploring New Writing Sites and going where No Writer Has Gone Before

UpDate

We rejoin our hero as she submits extremely well written prose to a new so-called writing site. The topic is 'How to Be a Clown in the Circus.'

The fact is, our hero has never been a clown in a circus, doesn't much like circuses and finds clowns on the border of obnoxious and disgusting, hence, the article is as valuable as bubble wrap. Correction; bubble wrap is more valuable, but be that as it may.

Le Site

As the full nature of the particular writing/publishing site has not been exposed, it will be referred to as Le Site.

Le Site was found during one of those random Googles.

There is no review about it as it is fairly new, and having experienced the onslaught of shills and shill masters who, like jihadists, will defend their Ponzi scheme to the death, I followed my own advice as to how to join.

Joining

I created a new spam box, a new nick, and wrote about a topic I know nothing about nor care to.

I loaded my extremely well written piece and sat back to see what happens. As one item wasn't enough for me, I wrote a number on various facets of clownship. Each more ridiculous and inventive than the other.

Hits

I received a slurry of hits. A trailer-load of comments. I don't know what the comments say as they seem to have been written in some unknown language and translated as best guess by Babblefish.

One article had over 80 comments. I waded through them with very high boots, and typed; "thank you" as if I knew what in hell they were saying.

Editing

Having attempted to add a few tags and being totally unable, I appreciated that I had lost my copyright to my Clown articles. Once published, the writer has absolutely no ability to touch the article.

To prove this I tried to contact the owner/mod.

BabbleFish

The owner/mod is also unable to write English so sent a sentence fragment which may require the services of those who are familiar with hieroglyphics to decipher.

I asked that tags be inserted after an article. As the tags have not been inserted I assume the term didn't translate.

Doing a check I found that most visitors came from Romania. I am not sure exactly what language they speak but it isn't English.

The Money Part

The site promised to pay $3.00 for every 1000 hits. It claims to pay on the 11th of every month.

The 11th arrived and with it an advisory that payment would be made on the 15th. Payment was actually made on the 16th.

I received $2.00, being informed I did not have 1000 hits.

I am not sure if this is a one off payment or if I will receive another payment on the 11th of this month.

As Of The Moment

Losing one's ability to edit or delete an article is clear indication of loss of copyright. Whether Le Site actually intends to capture the articles or due to the inability of the owners/mods to read English the Word Press application is improperly tweaked, I do not know.

Whether someone will be able to communicate with the owners/mods so that writers will gain the ability to edit in the future is a wager I don't suggest.

That I did get a payment does mean it is not a total rip-off The question of what I was paid for remains hanging until after the payment period passes.

If I receive further cash for my Clown series I will recommend the site to those who have crap they don't care about to be published. I don't know what the policy is on republishing, but there is something unsavoury about not being able to edit or delete an article I wrote.

Even when the article is of less value than bubble wrap.

It is Amarpals. It may or may not be legit. I will see what happens in a week, since the 11th in this Universe may be different in that one.

I like to write for different sites, different focus, etc. Having suffered on Factoidz and DESPITE all the warnings on the Net, people are still being ripped off. Hence I created this patented Rip Off proof system.

Bubblenw is a ponzi. It ropes in a thousand people, pays 100, uses the money those 1000 earn for itself and it's pets.

To keep afloat they will pay a handful...but if you aren't in that handful you will not be paid.

They used to pay at $25 now, they moved it to $50 to see how stupid people really are

Thank you, because I have noticed that when I first write about something I get a lot of views then later it begins to slow down until I write another article.

you will get discovered (yea thatd be cool) they the site will actually pay you consistently even if only a buck a day(yea I could live with that it would buy my stella artois) or that finally you will find the site not le site that you can actually feel you own a piece of (absolutely bethard thats exactly what I want)
hey you guys is wikinut that site?

Wikinut pays very little, but it pays. Triond also pays very little, but it pays. Others...well they pay by adsense hits...like you'd need a whole heap of clicks on ads to buy a cookie

yep HubPages is the same/used to pay fantastically...well every couple of months Id get a 100 buck check...but since the panda...so adsense is actually better now than google was
weird...wish theyd just pay the same at the same time then we could buy an entire bag of oreos, eh? :)

I never got anything from Hubpages. Like I'll check AD sense and maybe a whopping 83c or something. With Triond I get more from Adsense than the site itself

Helium is a waste of time. Firstly, your article is in competition with another which means it might not be published.
If it is published you get a one off payment.

Let me be coarse; getting a one off payment of $2.00 on crap is okay. But that is because I did zero research zero brain activation.
On Helium I wrote a very well researched piece that took me over an hour and got nothing.
Helium is a waste

Yahoo Contributor Network is the highest paying and legit site that I have found so far. Well, I would be happy to spend one hour on something Ive written. Except for the last short peice I wrote, it usually takes me 6 hours. Don't ask me what I do in 6 hours, it goes so fast. I constantly rewrite. But I am going to try a different technique and see if it helps. You might want to try paper-rater too. I love it! You may not need it, but I do. Great article.

Good Morning, Kaylar. Once again, you have alerted us, given us personal examples, and stimulated the rest of the community to discuss and add other valuable information. I hope you stay, get paid for your efforts, and continue making the kinds of contributions you are to Wikinut.

On a personal note, I have only been writing on Wiki since September 8th. I got 1600+ views on Wiki vs. 7 on Hub for the same day and many of the same types of articles, and I've been there for months. I was never good at math, however, even I can see the potential here. ~Marilyn

Hub Pages got a very bad rep in 2010 as a 'Content Farm'. Okay, they did make efforts to clean up...but what has happened is that their over active mods mark so many items 'non-featured' for no sensible reason that you'll find yourself having to rewrite and rewrite to simply not be 'non-featured'.

Wikinut has always had a good rep. Everything is moderated, and although it's 'STAR' system is virtually 'automatic' (done by A.I.) it isn't a Content Farm

As I am new, I am uncertain about commenting twice, however, I never had a problem with featured on Hub -all 30+ articles were and still are as of this past week. They just did not seem to get views, even with positive comments. Who knows? Certainly not me. :) ~Marilyn

You can comment a thousand times on Wikinut.

I wrote a few articles about Content Farms and Adsense and Google hits here , (and if I wasn't so lazy I'd prob. post all the referrals here...and get more views...
Here is the essence.

anything you write on Hub pages or Triond STARTS with MINUS points.

For example, let us suppose you entered a search for 'Tamerlane'

Wikipedia will prob. come first.
An Article here would net 100% and come in the batch of those which scored 100%.

An article written and posted to Hubpages will start with a minus 10%...so scores 90%.

So all the 100% artilces fill up the first pages, then 99%..on and on until page 34 when the 90% articles turn up.

Hence unless you are the only person on Earth who wrote about Tamerlane and the only place you posted was Hubpages, you won't get many hits.

Most hits on Hubpages are from others on Hubpages.

How much do you make in Wikinut. They are legit but the rates are so low. Bubblews paid me once, that's it. They are probably a scam. Tried Triond and not that different from Wikinut. Latest venture is Seekyt. Don't know yet what it is worth. Will keep trying.

At this moment, the only sites which have paid..(and badly for the most part are:
1. Triond
2. Hubpages
3. Wikinut
4. Postanyarticle
5. Bein

# 4 and 5 are very new...and I would give it another month before I can recommend them.

BTW...I don't just use my own experience...I have a number of comrades who also write and are into totally different genres.

Check this out if you like to get paid for surveys. Her is the only website that I know that really pays fast. I make $20.00-$30.00 month on this. 100 points = $10.00 The link is lengthly but, it is worth it.

There are many sites that use to pay great and no longer pay. I have been through many of them in my time. I sick with a few because I like the site and although the pay is only a few pennies at least they pay.

Originally, publishing sites were ways to easily earn $50 a month. Then they proliferated and suddenly instead of 6c per 10 views or 5c for 100 views, the need for 1k views to get 1c came in.
Many sites demand you have $50 before payout.

You can see the Bubblews model has taken over.
