Hello dear Wikinut poets,

There is an opportunity to submit your already published Wikinut poems for free at Wergle Flomp Poetry Contest.

Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry Contest

Our beloved Wikinut moderator Mark Gordon Brown several times pointed out that poetry generally won't get paid and also commented, "Poetry is a low paying category. Very few people look for poetry on line compared to facts and there is a ton of poetry to find when they do look". (See comments on the page - "How many Wikinut Nutpoints do we need to receive the first payment?")

But how about Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry Contest?
This contest is free to enter and open to anyone who can write and submit humor poetry. Total cash prizes of $3,600 will be awarded, with a top prize of $1,500.

Have a look at the last year's prize winning poems from these links:
Prize Winners 1 2 3

Submission Period : August 15, 2011-April 1, 2012

How to Submit:
You can submit your entries online from here.

There is no fee to submit to the Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry Contest. Poets of all nations may enter. Poems (including inspired gibberish) in English only are accepted.

But, there is a condition that you can submit only one poem during the submission period. The poem may be of any length.

Both published and unpublished poems are accepted for the contest.

And the good news is that you can submit the already published Wikinut poems also.

Many prolific poets of Wikinut

Wikinut has numerous poets who are very enthusiastic and highly creative in producing wonderful poetry. Wikinut poets rama devi nina, Songbird B, Aiyanna, Buzz, Nikiforos Ouranos, pinkscarf-insomniac, Delicia Powers, Shishir Gupta, veronicapink13,Sinbad the SailorMan, Mark Gordon Brown, johnnydod, WordWulf, Santosh Acharya , NLTreasures and many more have been publishing marvelous poetry on Wikinut website with great ease and their poetry is quite commendable, though there has been certain disappointment that poetry alone cannot earn money from writing sites.

Get ready to contribute!

I hope all the Wikinut authors will make use of Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry Contest as an opportunity to win some grand prizes.

Prizes

First Prize: $1,500
Second Prize: $800
Third Prize: $400
Twelve honorable mentions: Each $75

And all the prize winning poems will be published on the Winning Writers website.

The winners of the contest will be announced via free email newsletter and on the Winning Writers website on August 15, 2012.

Simultaneous Submission Allowed
You may submit your poems simultaneously to this contest and to other contests and publishers.

Best Wishes to all the creative writers!

I like your article. I do recommend all poets to enter. I also read some of them and followed them. They do write poems very well. I thank for sharing this contest to all fellow wikinut members who would be interested in this. They all should look into this.

Wow, great contest. I have not written poetry for a while now, and when I do I prefer to write absurdist poetry so this might be a fun thing to do.
Good for them to limit it to one entry per person, or I am sure they would be swamped.
Wikinut has some talented poets I am sure people here would do well to enter.

Great work on the collage picture too!

"Thanks for letting me know, Rathnashikamani,
I'll write a poem with at least some harmony,
I know with a rejection I will not reach abject dejection
For I'll have your support with friendship so rare,
I'll go ahead and take the dare.

Wonderful! Thanks so much for sharing this information and for the lovely collage of Wiki poets--i have yet to meet a few of them--and hope to do so soon. Glad to be included, too. Blessings and Namaste- rd
PS Will submit as well, though humor is not my usual flavor...it is a nice challenge for my eclectic muse.

Thanks for the info - but I'm not a true 'poet' and would never enter a poetry competition - not in my wildest dreams! Love the 'creative writing' image - fabulous.
