April Fools

A poem I wrote when me and my best friend fell out over something stupid.

April Fools

Words have been spoken, now they sleep among the dead,
A friendship is severed, 'cause of things that we've both said,
After the aftermath, both wish those things not true,
And now more than anything, I need you.

Miss the misunderstandings, lose all the warning signs,
Feel all the anger as it slowly builds inside,
Forget the compassion, forget our like minds,
If truth be told, us two we both lied.

To see your face in the crowded school,
To see the hatred though we both know its not true,
My face is a mask of yours, I wear the hate too,
Switch the masks, for April Fools.
