At The End Of The Day..A Reflective Prose.

Recently I wrote about the sublime beauty of a Sunrise, so it seems appropriate to conclude with a reflective poetic prose about winding down at the end of the day.. A time to relax and reflect with those you hold most dear..

At The End Of The Day..

As the sun slowly sinks down
into a westward sky,
there is a sense of slowing,
pausing, a moments respite
from the hustle and bustle
of an active filled day..
Tired limbs stretch,
easing tense, tight muscles..
as a lull takes place
as day slips into evening..

We Should All Learn To Appreciate..

A moon, set up high,
against a backcloth of dusk..
looks down on us,
smiling with his silvery face..
Soon his light will reign
as the sun slips away,
her golden rays leaving
a blush coloured tinge
her sweet welcome promise
of fair morrow to come..

The Blessings We're Given..

Children, sated and sleepy
tucked deep in their beds,
are away to their dreamlands
as parents relax..
Enjoying this rare moment,
when the world seems to sigh,
and to take a deep breath..
A stillness, a silence, as tranquillity reigns..
A heartbeat, a pulse,
as day fades into darkness.

As The Day Slips Away.

How often we miss these times
that we take so for granted..
If only they could be captured forever
as memories formed..
A time for reflection,
for snuggling close
with the peace that it brings..
A smile, a warm kiss that lingers on lips,
of yet unspoken promises..
give thanks to our blessings
at the end of the day.

Ah bless you Jerry..lol. We so often forget to stop to give thanks at the end of a long day. Even the annoyances and aggravations in our day are only challenges to overcome.. Glad you enjoyed my friend. You always honour me by posting on my pages as I know poetry is not your thing, so your post is really appreciated.\0/xxx

Good morning, Songbird, if we would all reflect in those quiet moments we would learn to appreciate what is around us. Beautifully thoughts, images and song. ~Marilyn

Hi Bev. Lady A used to be a writer on this site. If she wants to plaster her "poetry" all over everyone elses pages, she should sign up on Wikinut again and become a legitimate poster.

Hi Jerry, oh yes, I go back to the day when Lady A used to write here on Wikinut, but she seemed to think that other writers were copying her work so she left and deleted her account as you know.
Why she keeps insisting on leaving her poetry on other writers pages is quite beyond me to be honest..
I know some writers tolerate it but to me as I didn't request it, it is considered spam so gets deleted. There is denying her talent, but yes, if she wishes to post, she should rejoin..Thanks for looking in on me again my friend..\0/xxx

Excellent! I enjoyed reading your poetry and the music videos. I feel uplifted now. However, I find you used the pronoun her for the sun and his for the moon. May I ask why?

It is always good to see you here dear Rama..As to your query of pronouns, I can't really explain why, but I have always seen the sun as female, and the moon as male..lol. I know that isn't really an answer, but when I write I just go with the flow of where the poetry pulls me..Glad you enjoyed my page my friend.\0/xxx

Sunrise and Sunset we take for granted as a birthright. They are miracles we are blessed to share being part of creation. It goes like clockwork with a master juggler taking care of the variables, both seen and unseen! Lovely verse with music and images that add to the allure of the whole; thanks Songbird for putting a spring in our steps! Soothing and uplifting - siva
