A recap of the third week of the 2015-16 NBA season for the Atlanta Hawks.

Hawks Lose Two of Three After Strong Start

Nov. 11: The Hawks announced that center Walter "Edy" Tavares had been assigned to the NBA Development League's Austin Spurs. That night the Hawks defeated the visiting New Orleans Pelicans 106-98. Center Al Horford, who had made only 10 three-pointers during the first seven seasons of his career and made 11 last season, made his 12th three-pointer of this season against New Orleans. He finished with 26 points. Power forward Paul Millsap recorded 19 points and 16 rebounds. The win improved Atlanta's record to 8-2.

Nov. 13: A family emergency forced head coach Mike Budenholzer to fly from Boston to Atlanta on game day. Assistant coach Kenny Atkinson filled in for him. The Hawks were out-rebounded 50-35 and lost to the Boston Celtics 106-93. Boston also had the advantage in turnovers, committing 10 to Atlanta's 17. Millsap was the Hawks' leading scorer with 14 points, 10 of them coming in the first quarter.

Nov. 15: The Hawks announced that they had recalled Lamar Patterson and Walter "Edy" Tavares from the Austin Spurs. The Hawks honored the victims of the terrorist attacks in Paris two days earlier by holding a moment of silence and having a video display of the French flag at center court. A sore left knee forced point guard Jeff Teague, the Hawks' second-leading scorer, to sit out against the visiting Utah Jazz. Small forward Kent Bazemore scored 16 points but sprained his right ankle with 2:20 to go in the fourth quarter and left the game. Millsap, who had a season-high 28 points, missed a 12-foot shoot at the buzzer that would've won the game for the Hawks. The Jazz's 97-96 victory ended their eight-game losing streak against the Hawks.

Nov. 16: The Hawks said in a press release that Bazemore "will receive treatment and further evaluation" for his sprained right ankle and that "his status will be updated as appropriate."
