Back garden bench philosophy, and whispers from my soul...

Know Your Solitude

In the corner of my back garden
Sitting beneath the tallest of pines
Is my dear old friend- a weathered and worn bench…
Together we have watched each season,
Here in the woodlands' quiet,
Never feeling alone, sharing the solitude.

My garden needs tending, but there is no hurry...

In the Evening

After the rain on a cool June evening
I sit and listen to the song of the forest.
Leaves stir; birdcalls praise the sun
As it bursts forth from the clouds.

My garden needs tending, but there is no hurry...

Into the Light

Time lingers in the shadows of the trees,
I can watch from this distance
The sunshine aura of the daisies,
As each rain soaked petal melts into the light.

My garden needs tending, but there is no hurry.

So cleverly put together, a fantastic poem my dear friend. Your garden does not need tending it's beautiful, as is your poem. Thanks.

I agree with Terry dear Delicia . You have a very large garden to tend to , methinks , but to sit and watch the beauty around you must be such a treat . may you have many seasons to enjoy God's wonderful gift to you dear lady .
God bless you in your haven of peace .

In the Golden Light shimmering in love,
I make my way to the World Above.
Balancing all life while on the bench,
Watching them tearfully dig that trench.

Would they ever know the power of Golden Glow,
While they in tears watch the Valley of Snow.
For On that Bench while sitting one day,
The Wooden bird grew moss and algae.

The Bench grew sticky from the wet,
While all of Creation saw the issue dealt.
For the weighing of Soul had already begun,
Making the cloud of darkness leave and run.

For it was in silver sitting eerily,
While the Black stood around in glee.
Hoping for a bite of the woods in dark,
While searching for the Sun and Sky Lark.

Who were together singing praise of love,
Looking respectfully at One Above.
Until they came drunk in a moon stream,
Sending them into Eyes that Brim.

For the abuse of life was beyond compare,
The Rustle and eeriness just everywhere.
While the Sun and Sky Lark had in disguise come,
In the Valley of Flowers looking lonesome.

Only to find the fact of the Wife,
Who turned around saying not on your life.
You spoil the balance now keep away,
The Key of Life is now here to stay.

With that the moss on bench was all gone,
As Golden Rays kissed at Break of Dawn.
Pulling the Sun and Sky Lark in Disguise,
Showing the truth in the pack of lies.

For someone did hand me the spray,
And cleansed the bench of the algae.
Bringing back beauty and balance in the Love,
With the Sun and Sky Lark singing Above.

Shunning their disguises into Eagles once More,
As they together in life now did soar.
For they were protecting Golden Rays in heart,
With the Shields of Protection from world Apart.

Leading them to their own trenched grave,
All for the eerie reminder in life it gave.
That Rain and Darkness just hides Sun,
Who is Gold and and life second to none.

Penny I usually write a poem and then have the great fun of selecting one of my husband's wonderful photos- but of late he has been teaching me to take pictures myself...:0)...I took these after writing the poem... and what is really strange- is as I was just getting ready to post my poem (and had another picture I had taken early in the day of my bench selected)- when I looked out the window- and and there!- the light was beaming down on my bench- just like you see it in woodlands' quiet photo-:0)...I ran out and steadied my hand as best I could...and got that my self-prized photo - LOL- very, very ideal for my poem...it was just meant to be...:0)...long story, but it really tickles me...:0)-thanks Penny for asking- I was bursting to tell that story...LOL

A breathtaking glimpse of paradise dear Delicia, What an absolute joy it must be, to live without tall security fences and razor wire running all around one's property and where having your back garden melting into a lush green forest would amount to a serious security breach. I too have memories like those, sadly, in many of our lives, they all came to an abrupt end in 1994 when the A.N.C government took over the running of the country introducing a new state of lawlessness to both white and black folk alike, they will remain great memories and nothing more to folk living here in South Africa. Although we try so hard to down play the sad truth in the media which could only be described as living one's life under siege.Thank you for the brief sojourn, which your article has given me.

What a beautiful and very eloquent poem and those pictures are to die for!! They make me miss my country home!! I hope to come up with an article for Wikinut soon but I am also writing for other writing platforms. I have star phobia because I know I can't use one of the articles I have already submitted to my other writing platforms so I am hesitant to submit to Wikinut. I guess I have to get used to the fact that I won't always be able to find new material for a Star page!! I need these other writing platforms because Hubby is unemployed.
