Behind those bricks

A quick poem written on a train journey which i intend to put music to.

Behind those bricks

I wonder what's happening behind those bricks
As I travel along by train
There must be so many different lives
Albeit none the same

Are there lots of people
Children, mum and dad?
Are they happy or is someone alone
Maybe feeling sad?

Is the household manic or calm
Quiet and with peace?
I'll never know the answer
My questions will never cease.

This reminds me of your life
What's behind that 'bricked' outlook?
I'll never understand you
I can't read you like a book.

Are you happy with your life?
Does it fulfil your need?
I can't help but wonder
If you want to succeed.

A house of bricks
A heart of stone
Behind the doors
Are you alone?
No need to worry
I'll always be here for you
I'll stay outside the bricks and wait
Until I can peek right through.

I am currently recording a song from this poem called House of Bricks- watch this space!!! As soon as complete, I'll include a link where you can hear/buy it
